Pork Burgers / Patties

500 g. ground pork
1 medium sized onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 T. chopped spring onions
3 eggs, beaten
2 T. salt
1 t. soy sauce
½ c. flour
½ c. breadcrumbs
1/3 c. water
Dash of ground black peppers
Season to taste

Combine all the ingredients and divide into portions before you begin to shape them. Roll each portion into a ball, and then flatten into burger-patties shape with both hands.
Choose to cook burgers and patties in low to moderate heat to make sure they cook through evenly.
Cook in a lightly greased pan for a few minutes or until done, turning occasionally or once depending on the thickness you like to make.
Burgers and patties can be grilled, barbecued and pan-fried.

Having burgers and meat patties is a great casual way to entertain guest during summer time and so easy to slap on the barbie (barbeque) while you chat to your family and visitors. These can be made ahead of time and just provide the burger buns, bread rolls, fresh veggies (lettuces, tomatoes, cucumbers, beetroot, homemade relish), toppings and sauces and everyone can make their own burgers and can be eaten with plain rice.

You can make a variety of burgers like;
1. Chicken burgers – plain or spiced with teriyaki sauce, tomato sauce or a sauce of your choice.
2. Beef burgers – can be made with pure beef mince or a combination of sausage meat with spring onions and herbs.
3. Pork – cheese burgers or with beef mince.
4. Fish burgers – fish fillets or fish minced with herbs and spices, and the selections and combinations are endless with different herbs and spices.

Burgers if made ahead of time freeze up well, wrap with plastic wrap individually or in a plastic container layered between sheets of baking paper, and comes handy when you need them.
