Positive Affirmation Techniques to Manifest Change

You can manifest many profound changes in your life through positive affirmations. It’s simple and it’s true. This article explains how to make these positive suggestions work for you. Begin with the following statement. Read it for yourself:

“I have the right to believe in myself, regardless of my past.” Now, read it out loud three times.

Now read this one: “I believe in myself.” Now, read it out loud three times.

Stuck here (“But it’s not true!”)? Write “I believe in myself” on a large piece of paper and follow the suggestions in the rest of this article. If you’re ready to expand to different affirmations, follow the suggestions in the rest of this article. You will have fun as your life unfolds in a new and delightful way.

When you come to believe deeply in yourself, your life changes and other people around you change. You also find that you create, use and believe affirmations on a daily basis; it becomes a habit like brushing your teeth. These short statements become more and more of your reality as time goes on. Your life becomes easier, more fun and more creative the day you start using affirmations. Does that sound like a good idea?

In the beginning, you want to saturate your subconscious with this new information to redirect how you build your life. Your past may have been rather bland, or even downright negative. To build a happier life, you will have to change the sad and negative words in your deep mind. At first, your mind can only accept the new ones as a joke or with a sarcastic smile. This is the old me talking, trying to hold on. New affirmations become reality as you soften your shell and let them in. Here are a few ways to do it (and I’m learning new ones all the time):

Start with short statements that don’t seem true to you right now, but that you wish were true. I created a list to get my life going (again) in 2009. I started with little phrases I found in magazines. This is what I started with: “I can play in the sky”, “watch myself fly” “develop our projects” “stretch the imagination”, among others. I was quite shy at that time. There I was: within six months I was a widower, had major facial surgery for cancer, was unemployed, and had just left my boyfriend of 16 years. I wasn’t strong, I didn’t believe in myself and I felt completely alone. Notice, however, that I used the word “our.” Reviewing my collection of affirmations at that time, I realized that two years later, all of the affirmations had come true!

Here are some techniques for creating and using affirmations daily:

· Find phrases in magazines that you wish were true for you or that you think could be true with just a little luck and/or effort. Cut them out and glue them to 8 ½” X 11″ cardstock. Use something beautiful or interesting or representative of your desires (again, magazines are great) as a prop before you start pasting your affirmations to it. We’re not talking about artistic perfection here: sentences can be placed somewhat randomly or in perfect order. Put a happy picture of yourself in the middle of this board. In this way, you will happily surround yourself with your new thoughts. Hang this board somewhere you will see it at least twice a day. (I use my bathroom mirror.) Read each sentence each time you look at it. You will find that different phrases come to you on different days. I just find it interesting.

· Create three sentences for yourself. (“I am important” “I am a loving person” “I am loved” “I trust my creative spirit” and so on) Write them down, write them with magic markers and stick them on your board, on the bathroom mirror. and your fridge. Note that I’m saying “and” here: do it all. You’re making up for lost time, so feel free to flood your mind with them. Every time you see one of these notes, say it out loud. Make a song out of it and sing it to yourself in the shower. After a month or so, you won’t notice them all over your counter or fridge. They may even seem a little boring. This is a good thing; you are accepting them deep within you. Time for new ones.

· Are you more of a high-tech person? Make them a screensaver or have them appear randomly on your work screen. Set your phone to randomly text your affirmations throughout the day. Do you have a computer calendar? Enter your claims in the next few days. How you will forget what you wrote where, so you will have new affirmations daily throughout the month.

· Get a notebook of some kind, and when you realize that one of your affirmations has come true for you, take it and put it in the notebook. Date it and write a brief description of what has come true for you in this way. When you review it later, you’ll be surprised at your sense of satisfaction.

Using your personal sense of direction and creative spirit, you can make affirmations that help you grow progressively into the happier, lighter, and more exciting life that awaits you.
