Do You Want to Make Your Cat Worm Free

To ensure your pet is protected, it is recommended to treat kittens at 6, 8, 12 weeks and then at 3 month intervals. An adult cat should be treated every 3 months. Drontal is available as coated tablets and can be easily administered by mixing it with food or can be administered directly.

Milbemax for cats is also available in tablet form. Multi-spectrum dewormer, recommended for the treatment and control of roundworms, hookworms and cestodes and also helps in the prevention of heartworm disease. The dose is based on the cat’s body weight and is usually given orally in a single dose. It is recommended to take the tablets with or after food as this ensures maximum protection against heartworm disease. Please note that this product cannot be administered to cats less than 6 weeks of age or weighing less than 0.5 kg.

For those who prefer to use a spot in the treatment of worms, Profender is recommended. It is effective against all stages of roundworms and hookworms in cats (L4, immature and adult stages) and adult stages of cat tapeworm. Profender for cats it can be used in kittens from 8 weeks of age and weighing more than 0.5 kg. Please note that this product is for external use only and care should be taken in administration, especially if there is more than one cat in the household. It is important to ensure that the pet does not lick the treated area while it is wet.

Another dewormer that is quite effective is Droncit for cats. It is used for the treatment of adult tapeworms and is effective against immature and mature forms of adult tapeworms in cats. It comes in pill form and is administered directly or can be mixed with food.
