Recently, after undergoing major dental work, my dentist suggested that I stick to a liquid diet. Being a southern girl, I refused to drink only broth and water. Reluctantly, I went to the grocery store and bought the best soup on the shelves. I came home, opened the box and added my freshly ground pepper. Between the slime of the Novocain and the Motrin, I thought the soup was quite tasty. After 2 days of soup, the soup started to taste bland. On the third day, I added cayenne pepper to spice it up. However, all I could taste was the cayenne in the bland soup. My baby mama decided to make me some of her homemade chicken soup. In all my years, I will never remember my mother making homemade chicken soup. I guess it’s been a while since I was home and had the chance to experience my mom’s home cooking.

She started with organic chicken, added spices and boiled the chicken. She let the broth from the boiled chicken cool overnight and skimmed the fat from the broth the next morning. Then she added fresh corn which she cut off the cob and chopped carrots, onions, scallions, potatoes and chunks of chicken diced to perfection. Seems to take time, but hmm if you could taste it. After tasting my mother’s homemade soup, I couldn’t stand canned soup anymore. The difference between canned soup and homemade soup is inexplicable. For the next 3 days, my mother prepared fresh homemade soup. Did the preparation take longer? Yes, he did. Was it worth the wait? I can give a resounding, unequivocal YES.

Often our approach to fitness and any major life change is a lot like soup on the shelves. It is convenient to obtain and hence becomes our source of comfort.

To get to a new destination or new goals, CUTTING and SKIMMING fat is worth the preparation and the extra time.

Trimming and skimming fat requires:

1. Faith: Faith is a belief that is not based on logical proof or material evidence. You must have faith that you can and will achieve the goal you have set for yourself. Consider yourself a happy, prosperous and healthy person. Poor diet and nutrition is often a reflection of an area of ​​our lives that suffers from neglect. Neglect begins to manifest itself in overeating, overdrinking, excessive sleeping, and habits that are not conducive to a better and healthier one.

2. Acceptance: Means that you are valuable as you are. Have you ever thought about the stages of growth and development of a newborn? From conception, each element has been predetermined before birth. The color and shape of your eyes and the shape and angle of your nails have been predetermined for YOU. Examine yourself and design a plan for change in order to create the happiness you deserve.

3. Patience: The definition of patience is to be consistent or the ability to endure delays without getting angry or upset – to remain calm in the face of adversity – to be consistent in the midst of a storm. In a fast-paced environment where things can be achieved without hard work, we often get tired of achieving our goals and ambitions.

4. Ability: Ability is the ability to perform or do something successfully at a high level of general skill or competence. If you breathe and are healthy, your abilities are endless. The only handicaps that exist are those that we impose on ourselves.

5. Preparation: Procrastination is an assassination towards your ultimate destination. Procrastination can be our worst enemy. It can stifle our progress and limit our possibilities. Start by planning every hour of every day to accomplish tasks.

6. Attitude: Your attitude can be a general opinion or feeling. Attitude is a choice. Every morning when you wake up, you have a choice. You can choose to be happy or unhappy. Being unhappy and negative is useless. Negativity depresses others around you and wastes energy. Channel negative energy into things that can turn situations into a positive outcome.

7. Habit: Research shows that if you do anything consistently for 21 consecutive days, it will become a habit. Today, start by evaluating your good and bad habits. Assess positive and negative inner dialogue. Make a list of good and bad habits.

8. Healing: Letting go of the past and looking to the future. To heal physically and emotionally, you must first admit there is a problem. Once you are ready to deal with the symptoms,

the healing process can begin.

In order to make positive changes in your life, start with an assessment of your daily life and your goals. Cut and skim negative energy and people from your daily life. Know that every day will be different. And every new day you have the opportunity to improve it. Be your best… Every day.
