Goats Milk Is Good for You!
Would you believe it—smelly goat’s milk products are now a favorite in the western world Sales of butter derived from goat’s milk are up 31%, milk up 28%, yoghurt up 23%, cheese up 16%, according to a report published in western mail (Cardiff, Wales), recently. Retail analysts Taylor Nelson Sofres say the total UK goat dairy market has grown by 16% over the past 12 months and was worth £32.3 million in October this year. And why not, as people are gradually starting to realize that goat’s milk is lower in fat and much easier to digest than cow’s milk (microscopic studies have shown that the average size of fat globules in goat’s milk goat’s milk is only about 1/3 of that present in cow’s milk) is therefore extremely healthy for young and old, but especially for those who are allergic to cow’s milk. Interestingly, of all animal milks suitable for human consumption, only cow and goat milks have been found to be nutritionally close to human milk. This is because goat’s milk protein forms a smaller, finer curd and contains more than twice the typical amount of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) found in cow’s milk. In some studies it has been found to cure eczema in children.
Goat’s milk also has a higher concentration of Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), a natural ingredient in breast milk that is very essential for the development and recovery of intestines and cells. Swedish studies have shown cow’s milk to be a major cause of colic in 12-30% of formula-fed infants under three months of age. In other babies, the incidence was about 20%. The Chinese Medical Encyclopedia maintains that goat’s milk is good for the lungs, stomach, and intestine. Western clinical studies have also correlated these benefits to a high concentration of EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor). Meanwhile, an enzyme known as Platelet Activating Factor Acetyl Hydrolase, which can break down allergens, has also been isolated from goat’s milk, during research.
Goat milk is also loaded with natural bioactive factors such as nucleotides; taurine and polyamine, which help strengthen the immune system. The absorption of calcium, iron, copper and zinc is also higher in goats than in cows and provides natural immunity against coughs, phlegm and indigestion. Research indicates that asthma in children improves after a few months of taking it. Unlike multivitamin tablets, which only need to be taken 1-2 tablets per day, a child can safely take up to 10 Karihome goat’s milk gummies per time, one to three times per day. There can be no better nutritional supplement for picky eaters.
