February Fun Includes Love, Laughter and Lively Entertainment in Downtown Indianapolis
Trash cans light up downtown Indianapolis – help visitors keep downtown clean
From the end of February, nearly 200 city center bins will be lined with colored bin paper. The vibrant wrappers are blue and green with the message ‘Put the trash where it belongs’ and ‘Keep downtown clean’. The purpose of this initiative is to encourage consumers to put waste where it belongs and to raise public awareness of the cleanliness of downtown. The Trash Wrap program was born in 2000 when the Indianapolis Downtown Inc. Cleaning Advisory Board decided to transform trash cans. The program was introduced as part of the preparations for the NCAA Final Four on the party scene. The wraps have been such a hit with visitors, businesses and the community that they now appear every spring. For more information, call IDI at 237.2222.
