Good Food Good Health – For A Healthy Heart Drink Milk

For a healthy heart, drinking a pint of milk a day can improve your heart health.

This is really good news for all of us and especially for my family and myself because I have always loved dairy products and have never skimped on them.

I’ve only ever eaten and used butter mainly because there are usually no additives other than salt, whereas like in many margarine or butter substitutes I don’t actually know some of the additives listed and also the fact that I never managed to find one that I liked the taste of.

For quite some time now, dairy products have been labeled as bad for our health, but new studies conducted by researchers show and claim just the opposite. They say dairy products actually help protect our bodies against a wide variety of serious health conditions, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and stroke.

The study found that by regularly consuming dairy products, be it cheese, yoghurt or any type of milk, the chances of developing metabolic syndrome are cut in half, which in the UK , affects up to a quarter of the population. population.

Metabolic syndrome is also known as insulin resistance, which affects the body’s metabolism by increasing cholesterol, body fat, blood sugar, and blood pressure.

People who suffer from this disease have almost double the risk of coronary heart disease and have four times the risk of diabetes than those who do not have metabolic syndrome. Even more alarmingly, these people are fifty percent more likely to die earlier; a twenty-five year study has shown.

Over the past twenty-five years, milk consumption has fallen, which is thought to be because of the effects the high saturated fat content can have on the heart and overall health.

A growing body of evidence suggests this is wrong, as world reviews on dairy and vascular disease show there are benefits, including rates of heart disease and stroke.

Evidence has shown that there is a very powerful effect that goes completely against today’s public perception that milk and dairy products are bad for the heart.

There have been over 300 publications of this study and they all point in the same direction, and the evidence shows that the effect is the same for men and women.

The study found that those who ate and drank dairy products regularly were much less likely to have the syndrome than those who drank and ate little or nothing at all.

Drinking a pint of milk a day they were also 62% less likely to have the syndrome, and if they regularly ate other dairy products, 56% less likely.

Researchers have also found that milk is more effective than anything else, including water and expensive specially formulated sports drinks, at replacing fluids and salts lost through sweat.

So, after any type of exertion like sports, fitness and manual labor, a glass of milk is best for rehydration. Tests show that milk keeps the body rehydrated for at least four times longer than water or powerade – Cola’s sports drink.

Milk is naturally rich in potassium, sodium and other vital salts which the body loses in large quantities through perspiration.

The combination of protein, sugar and fat present in milk is the reason why it is eliminated from the body much more slowly than other beverages.

Milk really is a great drink and is so versatile, I know a lot of people don’t really like milk but you can still make custard, rice pudding or semolina etc with it. : to get your daily intake.

Our youngest daughter has always been against drinking a glass of milk, and still is today, but she actually drinks more milk than the rest of the family.

She loves cereal, eating up to four bowls a day and of course with milk, summer and winter. She also loves chocolate milkshakes and fruit smoothies with a drop of ice, but it’s often up to me to make the smoothies, because she doesn’t like cleaning up the blender after – teenage girls!

It is a pity that schools do not distribute the daily milk drink which, as a youngster, constituted a large part of the school day. I believe that if this were still the case in primary schools, more children would be happy to drink milk and less likely to opt for the soft drinks that are available.

I hope you find this interesting and don’t worry about eating dairy anymore. Think of all the great sauces you can make to improve your cooking skills and know that they’re actually good for you. My favorite has always been the cheese sauce, but I also like the white sauce with fish or on beans.

Cheese on toast is a staple of our daughter’s diet, so much so that cheese is one of the first things that runs out in our kitchen, and now they’re laughing and saying they can eat even more now! Too bad they don’t know where Sainsbury’s is.

Remember to eat well to be healthy
