Calcium is essential for the growth of your bones and is crucial if you are trying to grow taller naturally. Ninety-nine percent of the body’s calcium is stored in the bones and teeth where it is used to keep them growing and strong. But calcium also has other uses. It is also needed for muscle contraction and expansion, secretion of hormones and enzymes, and sending signals through the nervous system, among other things.

It is so important in fact that not having adequate amounts of protein can be detrimental to increasing height. Other great sources of calcium include yogurt, cottage cheese, and calcium-fortified orange juice.

Just make sure that if you’re trying to get your daily calcium recommendations for growing taller naturally, don’t thwart your efforts by taking calcium blockers. These include salt, coffee, soft drinks, cigarettes, alcohol and refined sugars. If you want to grow, minimize their consumption. These substances cause the calcium not to do its job as effectively.

There is, however, something that can help you absorb it better, and that is vitamin D. The easiest way to do this is to get outside. If you get about fifteen minutes of sunlight three times a week, you’ll get enough vitamin D to make a difference. Other great sources include tuna, salmon, and milk. And with milk you also get your calcium, so it’s the perfect drink!
