The most important first step is to commit yourself to the process of finding the right child care situation for you and your family. Don’t hesitate to make this important decision – find someone to talk to (a family member or friend who’s been there before, for example). Don’t make decisions just to push them aside. Take the time and think carefully about how you want to handle this new phase of your life. Set times when you will call each day (leaving open the possibility of additional calls if you need them!). And have your nanny call you if there are any concerns or questions at any time.
