First, I want to emphasize the importance of light weight in a boat reel. A fisherman must be able to move quickly on the boat, so his reel needs to weigh as little as possible. At only 21 ounces, this reel fits the bill quite nicely. A light coil leaves me free to respond quickly and change position easily as the fight progresses. Anodizing, by the way, is a way to make aluminum more durable and stronger. Without getting too technical, I can say that in the anodizing process, aluminum is subjected to a chemical process that creates a strong and fortified surface coating. Finally, the 320LD has a stainless steel level vent. Expect to pay around £199.99 (£134.99 on special offer) for this reel.

The 320LD spool holds a generous 380 yards of 15-pound test line. The gear ratio is 4.3: 1. I have found this reel to be invaluable for fishing in difficult places, such as over wrecks and around rough terrain.
