Dinner: Drink 8 oz of grapefruit juice or eat a whole grapefruit and consume any meat you want.

The diet puts good faith on the nature of the grapefruit. Even many experts have slammed this diet, but this diet has continued to show its effectiveness supported by official research. Research done by Dr. Fujioka from the Nutrition and Metabolic Research Center of the Scripps Clinic stated that grapefruit can actually cause weight loss. Respondents who ate half a grapefruit with a meal lost 3.6 pounds, while those who drank grapefruit juice lost 3.3 pounds in 12 weeks. While this number is nothing spectacular, it is a good number judging by the amount of food eaten. Remember that this does not impose a strict eating habit.

Naturally, exercises and a regular meal plan is the key to weight loss, but you don’t need to strain if you follow this diet. However, this diet does not promote a sense of portion control which in turn can influence its follower on hectic eating habits. So incorporate grapefruit juice or fruit consumption together with your food, but eat your food sensibly!
